About PublicPay
PublicPay helps job seekers, taxpayers, journalists, researchers, students and public employees understand what public-sector jobs pay, with the context needed to read the numbers correctly.
Independent, not official
PublicPay is an independent project of Rumonz AI Studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management or any government agency. It republishes summaries of public government data; for official figures, consult OPM's Federal Workforce Data.
Principles
- Show the source. Every page names its dataset, snapshot date, population and pay definition.
- Show the gaps. Where OPM withholds pay or location, PublicPay says so instead of estimating.
- Groups, not people. PublicPay reports statistics for groups of at least 30 employees and never publishes individual records.
- Free and open to everyone. No accounts, no sign-ups, no paywall.
Not for screening
PublicPay data must not be used to make decisions about any individual's employment, credit, housing, insurance or eligibility for anything.
